Written by: Cheong Yew Chung, Assistant Sixer & Scribe The day started when the whistle blew and the command of horseshoe was given by the Senior Sixer, Trisha. My Six and I were in position in our horse shoe formation. Soon the colour party started. It was Emu’s turn to do it. After the colour party and the administration stuff such as taking attendance, we begin with the main activity of the day. Mr Cheong taught us how to build a simple basha (shelter). He introduced the various equipments needed for basha building. Mr Cheong also shown us some pictures of various designs of basha. After the introduction, we were told our task for today -- each Six had to build a basha.  The respective Six were all eager to start building our own basha.  My Six and I started the shelter building. It looked easy but was actually harder that it looked.  Gaven and I hammered two poles onto the ground, but the poles kept falling down. So we had to use the pegs an...

Written by: Trisha Chan, Senior Sixer & Scribe Today, for our scout meeting today, after Colour Party, the first thing that we did was to collect the Donation Draw ticket stubs. Next, we went to the nearest classroom to the Kidzone, to learn about what we can do to conserve energy and resources . Then, while every six played a recycling game, the rest of us cub scouts did some environment worksheets. After that, we did a lot of funny versions of our favorite song, ‘Boom Chicka Boom’ For example, some scouts did a ‘zombie’ version and some scouts did a ‘party’ version… Too soon, we had to get into horseshoe formation to commence Sunset Party. However, Mr Tan had one last game for us to play! To play this game, you have to ‘bomb’ a six. And with that, our annual scout meeting ended with Sunset Party and heavy hearts.

Handover Ceremony, 15th July 2017

Written by Joanne Koong, Sixer & Scribe leader Today’s horseshoe held special significance for Shafiq and Kylie, our dear senior sixers. This was their last meeting as the P6 scouts would be stepping down to prepare for PSLE. After the horseshoe, Mdm Kerina gave out progress and proficiency badges. The cub with the biggest haul was YiHan with 9 badges! Next was the announcement of the new leaders of the Pack…. Everyone was reeling in excitement, wondering who our new senior sixers would be. Those of us who attended the Sixers’ Training Camp in June were anxious to know if we would get an appointment or a promotion. Firstly, the assistant sixers were called out to receive their new appointment, certificate and badge from Mr Tan Cheng Kiong, our Chief Commissioner. Next were the sixers. I was promoted to a sixer! I was over the moon! Sadly, there were three sixes without a sixer. All the assistant sixers were informed that some of them might be promoted to a sixer over the...

Written by: Jasper Koh, Sixer & Scribe “Beep! Beep! Beep!” the Senior Sixer blew his whistle and everyone lined up in Horse shoe and after that we lined up in Indian file. We started the meeting off by handing out badges! Quite a lot of people got their Bronze and Sliver arrows and some proficiency badges too! After giving out all the badges, we started on with our next activity! The people who were going for the Akela Award stepped out as they were going to get their First-Aider badge! The rest of us sat there until Mr Tan came. He told us that we will be making Solar-Ovens using shoe boxes! Everyone was so excited that everyone was talking to one another about it. We then listened to the instructions given out and were ready to start. We were then dismissed to our Six’s corner and we took our materials and started building the Solar-Oven! Although some of us didn’t bring some materials, we lent each other some of the materials. After we completed our ovens, Baloo cam...
