Crime Prevention Talk 3rdOct2020
Written by Kei Rui Min, Senior Sixer & Scribe This Saturday, we were doing the Crime Prevention Badge. I was very excited as I had never attended a talk from a police officer before. This week’s meeting was a little different, instead of splitting up into 2 groups we were going to have only one meeting. However, the meeting would be 2 hours long. We started of the meeting as usual and we were soon joined by a police officer. We also learnt that he worked at the Queenstown Police Station. At the start of the talk, he addressed us about common crimes that children our age commit. We also went through some of the emergency numbers that we can call in case of an emergency. I learnt a lot of things such as that we should only call 999 in case of an emergency that requires immediate attention.
