Investiture, 18th February 2017
Written by: Joanne Koong, Sixer & Scribe Excitement filled the Kidzone as we chatted happily and could not wait for the investiture to begin! Today, the recruits would be officially become cub scouts! After the colour party, we lined up in Indian file. Unfortunately, we had to complete an activity before the investiture. “Good morning, cubs,” Mr Chong greeted us with a broad grin on his face. “ Today, we will be making knots and woggles.” He then explained that those who have attained their Silver Arrow and above would be taught how to make a woggle with a piece of rope. The cubs with Bronze Arrow and recruits would be taught knotting. Mr Chong took charge of knotting while Mr Tan took charge of woggle-making. As for me, I did the woggle. Mr Tan taught us how to transform a piece of rope into a woggle step by step. At first, it was pretty simple. After a while, it started to get difficult and more complicated.
