North Area Founder’s Day on 22 February 2025
By Bilby Sixer Dmitri Tay
It was a very exciting morning. The scout leaders had instructed us to come to school by 7:30 a.m. for the North Area Founder’s Day activities. When I arrived at school, most of the scouts were already there. At 7:40 a.m., we hopped on the bus and set off.
When we arrived at the venue, I noticed it was a different location from last year’s event. I still remember last year when we gathered at the stadium to welcome our new Chief Scout. This time, instead of a sports stadium, the event was held between a few HDB blocks.
The event began with us reciting the Scout Promise and the Scout Law. After a few words from the guest of honor, the carnival games started. To earn the prize, we had to complete five minigames, and another five to earn the badge. My six had a lot of fun playing games organized by other scout units. There was a variety of activities, such as sorting materials into the correct groups and answering questions about Scouts. There was even a photo booth!
After collecting our prizes, we took a snack break. Later, we gathered to sing some songs. Unfortunately, we had to leave soon after because the bus had arrived to take us back.
Overall, it was an exciting event where I made new friends, participated in fun activities, and learned important lessons. I hope it happens again soon!
