Unit Camp Day 2 18 November 2023
By Emu Sixer Favian Poh
When we woke up, we reported to the Kidzone. Then we reported to our Indian File. We started our sunrise party. Then we ate breakfast and packed our small bags as we were going for orientation at the Botanic Gardens.
When we reached Botanic Gardens, we were dropped off at the wrong spot and needed to travel to the correct spot. After we were dropped off at the correct spot, we were given instructions, and we started the Orienteering. We were assigned checkpoints and we headed to the checkpoints using a compass and a map of Botanic Gardens.
When it was about 12pm, we took our lunch and sat at the Shaw Fountain Symphony Stage and ate our lunch. After we ate our lunch, it started to drizzle and started to rain. We took a quick picture and left by bus to our school.
When we reached school, we were supposed to pack the small bag into the big bag and got our writing materials. We were given a paper to write about how we felt about the Orienteering. I felt that Orienteering was not easy. I needed to practice using the compass more often to improve my navigating skills. After writing down, we had a snack break. After the snack break, we did the sunset party.
After that, we got to our six corner and pick out 3 scarfs to teach the one who did not know the knot or first aid. After that, we did the first aid and knot relay race. Some people did not know to tie the knot or operate first aid. After the relay race, we had dinner together.
After dinner, we set up the campfire. During the campfire, we sang scout songs, two six sang their song they chose and did some limbo and talked about scout life over the years. After the campfire, each six bathed and slept.
