Written by Garren Pang, Acting Sixer & Scribe I felt excited about today’s Zoom scouts meeting session- we would be designing and making our own lanterns! When I joined the meeting, we had our Colour Party as usual. After that, we continued with our song journey. This time we learnt a song from New Zealand. It was a traditional love song named Pokarekare ana. I liked the soothing rhythm of the song and its unique culture. We also learnt that this song was in Maori. After we were briefed by Mdm. Kerina on how to make the lanterns, we were split into breakout rooms. We were given 45 minutes to make the lantern. The special part of today’s activity was that we would be using recycled materials to make the lantern. The first step was to cut four rectangles on the sides of the tissue box. Next, we used the cellophane paper that Mdm. Kerina gave us in school to cover the cut-out areas. Finally, we could unleash our creativity to decorate our lanterns with whatever we had at home. For ex
