Henry Park Pelican (Cub) Scout

  Written by: Claudia Kong, Sixer & Scribe Today is our first scout meeting after the handover. After horseshoe, in Indian files, attendance was taken. We were all very excited when Raksha announced that she would be giving out the Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum leather woggle for this year’s job week. A special edition Black leather woggle was also given out to the top earners of this year’s job week. Two cubs, Sean Daly and Alyssa Daly, tie in their earnings to become the joint top earners.   Next, Raksha & Kaa conducted a simple badge giving ceremony. A few Gold, Silver and Bronze arrows were given out. Camper proficiency badges were given out to all those cubs attended the recent Sixer Training Camp. Some other proficiency badges like Entertainer and Animal Lover were also given out. We also received our Bumblebee and Squirrel badges today. Yay!!! ENTRY 1.... Written by: Caleb Liow, Sixer & Scribe Everyone was eagerly anticipating the announcement of the new batch of leaders. The Senior Sixers conducted their last horseshoe before Raksha made a few announcements. Afterwards, Chill brought us out to the open grounds to do some foot drills. His aim was for us to be coordinated as we stamp our foot in unison. We revised some of the commands like "Sernandiri", "Serdiya", "Kekanang Rurose", " Kekanang Puseng" etc.The foot drill trained us to be alert and follow instructions. We had to respond in time and on time and not rush. "Listen to the command," reminded Chill. We had a brief explanation of how the ceremony would be conducted before the announcement of the new batch of Leaders. Finally, the long awaited moment came. Written by: Lucas Tan, Assistant Sixer & Scribe Yeah!   The long awaited scout meeting of Term 3 has finally arrived!   Raksha had instructed us to bring four items, 1. Scissors 2. White Glue 3. Colour Pencils 4. Markers I had a feeling we would be doing something really fun today, and I was right! After the usual horseshoe, Mdm Kerina showed us a pack of ice cream sticks. She told us that we were going to make something very interesting out of these ice cream sticks – we were going to construct what we thought futuristic scouting would be like. For example, we could build futuristic tents or uniforms.  Each Six was limited to one pack of ice cream stick each. We had to use this limited resource to construct our vision of scouting in the future. As soon as we were split into our Sixers’ Corner, we immediately started working on our arts and craft project. We had to take time to visualize the design before constructing
