Scout Meeting, 4th February 2012
By Scribe and Senior Sixer Kimberly Song
This week’s meeting was yet another fun and tiring one. The new recruits brought along newspapers, glue and scissors. What could be installed for us? Even I was baffled that we had to bring newspapers for the meeting!
After horseshoe, Akela explained what we were going to do. We had to cut out letters from the newspaper and stick them onto a vanguard sheet and stick the scout law. Memories flooded my mine. I had fun doing it last time when I was a recruit. Maybe this year’s new batch will enjoy it as well?
However, they did not really enjoy it I think. Since our new campus is very windy, the newspapers kept flying away! Some of them had glue all over their fingers. Some sixs were in a pickle as they forgot the scout law!
Not long after, they were gathered back to the kidzone and 2 sixes were declared the winners who managed to complete their tasks on time. While Baloo taught songs to the cubs, the senior sixers and a few were cleaning up the rubbish left by the cubs.
Soon, all fun came to an end and we did horseshoe. But the fun isn’t over yet! Next week is the recruits’ camp. And it will be the most memorable camp for the new recruits. I am looking forward to the next scout meeting! Whatever will we encounter?
