Upcycling Project on 29 March 2025
By Deputy Senior Sixer Zeqi
Today, we are having a craft session. When we first came to school, we got into horseshoe and conducted colour party. After that, we collected our DJC activity sheets.
Soon, Ikki split us into groups for foot drill. The recruits were led by an alumni and a leader. The remaining pack was split into two, each taken by two alumnus. Foot drill teaches us about discipline and focus. It also trains our teamwork.
After the foot drill, it was time for the highlight of the day— our upcycling project. We were to make a rain gauge and a wind vane using plastic bottles we had brought. Kaa briefed us on the procedures of making them before the pack was split into six corners to finish the crafting activity. We enjoyed every second of it. We laughed together as we made our rain gage and wind vane. In the blink of an eye, we were done! We decorated the crafts with our markers to make it unique to us. In the middle of the activity, some of the primary six scouts who were participating in the chief scouts award were called out.
After we packed up the area, we returned to Indian file. Dragon Heart then gave out the badges before we wrapped up the day with a singing session by the sixers and assistant sixers. After sunset party, we went home with our wind
