Hike to Jurong Lake Garden 17th Aug2019

Written by Ker Rui Min, Sixer & Scribe

The day started with gathering in front of the library. We were going for our second hike of the year at the newly opened Jurong Lake Gardens! After the headcount, we boarded the bus to go to Bukit Batok Nature Park. From there, we were going to take the Coast-to-Coast Trail to Jurong Lake Gardens.

All of a sudden, it started to rain. As the rain got heavier, we stopped to put on our raincoats and ponchos.

However, the rain did not dampen our spirits. We walked for a little while more before seeking shelter under a void deck. We also had some biscuits.
After the break, we continued to walk towards our destination. The sky had already cleared up and stopped raining. Time flew by and before I knew it, we were already more than half through our hike. As we walk along, I saw many intresting animals such as monitor lizards and otters.

We walked and walked and walked…… After what seemed like forever, we finally reached Jurong Lake Gardens!

We headed to a grass field inside Jurong Lake Garden to have a well-deserved picnic. We all gobbled up our lunch!

After lunch, Raksha handed us some pictures and told us that we were going to have to find out the location of all eight pictures and write something about it. We were given forty-five minutes to do so.

After the hunt, we met at the Play Pavilion. When we arrived there, we were greeted by a gigantic playground. Everyone cheered when we were told that we were allowed to play at that playground for half an hour.

As we were playing, time flew by in a jiffy, and before we knew it, it was time to return to school. So, we boarded the bus again and went back to school. What an enjoyable hike!
