Good Deeds Day, 1st April 2017
Written by: Tricia, Sixer & Scribe
One bright Saturday morning, the
cub scouts of Henry Park Primary School sang merrily as they walked in single
file to Ghim Moh Hawker Center.
We were about to go to Ghim Moh
Hawker Center to pick up rubbish and clean up dirty dishes as part of Good Deed
Day.
The cubs that we Primary 5 and
above were given two rubbish bags, a barbeque tongs, and a pair of gloves each.
As soon as the boundaries were set by the adult leaders, we were off!
Immediately, the boys took the rubbish picking job as a competition, throwing
themselves into the job, yelling excitedly when they found rubbish on the
floor.
As for the cubs who were Primary
4 and below, they were also given a pair of gloves. Then, they went into the
hawker center clear the tables.
All too soon, it was time to
make our way back home. We followed the direction of the sun; our hearts filled
the knowledge that we had done a good deed.
