Henry Park Pelican (Cub) Scout

However, inside of the usual procedures, as everyone is aware of the very sad passing of Mr Lee Kuan Yew, to pay respect, the scout flag was raised at half mask and we had one minute of silence to pray for Mr LKY. It was indeed a very sombre moment..... After the horseshoe, we gathered in Indian File and Baloo asked us to share about what we prayed for. This was the first week after the march holidays, Job week so you know what that means time to collect some $money$!:) But before that Baloo asked everyone how much they earned to find out the highest earner it was Joanne!! More than $800! WOW great job!!!  Group by group the adult leaders collected our $MONEY$ and counted them. After that, Baloo told us what we were going to do. REMEMBERING MR LEE KUAN YEW

Written by: Daniel Por, Senior Sixer and Scribe It was a cool morning at 8 o’clock when the Senior Sixers’ whistles rang out through the air. The Scouts who had managed to drag themselves out of bed gathered in Indian File, and soon Chil was talking to them on Jobweek safety, really basic stuff. Then the Sixers were sent to prepare their skit, while the rest of the Pack continued to listen to Chil. Soon enough, the Sixers came back and presented their skits on various scenarios, like how to reject a job, or properly ask for a job. The funniest ones garnered a reaction from the Pack, mostly laughs. Chil then went through the phone numbers of Raksha and Mdm. Written by: Claudia Kong (Senior Sixer & Scribe) After the usual horse-shoe formalities, The adult leaders conducted a detailed briefing for the job week. Some basic to-do were highlighted to the cubs. Chil also reminded us of what we should bring along when we go out for job week. I can sense the excitements in most cubs although some of the new cubs displayed anxiety. During the questions and answers session, many cubs raised very good questions. I am thankful for our adult leaders as they make great effort to clear our doubts. And pairing us up for job week is a great idea. After the detailed briefing, for the benefit of all the new cubs that join us this year,  the senior sixers and sixers put together a few skits showing some dos and don'ts while going about our job week. In the skits we also learn how to handle some unique tricky situations. The adult leaders and teachers then issued each of us with 2 job week cards and some little pocket calendars. Before we ended
